The Norris Religious Fellowship is an interdenominational community church which has grown from the desire of people with varied religious backgrounds to share experiences & to search together for spiritual enrichment.
Its idea is not to bind by creed but to weld through love of God and love of everyone.
In the spirit of the earliest Church it has sought to serve God through
serving the wide town and country community of which it is a part.
The Fellowship seeks to provide opportunity for spiritual growth through a deeper appreciation of the Christian heritage and an understanding of the insights of the world's great religious faiths. In the spirit of divine unity, our church continues to build, hoping that those who join with us will find their burdens shared and their joys multiplied.
We are a non-creedal church though we are composed of a number of individuals who come to us from creedal churches. In fact, as an inter-denominational church you can typically find individuals with experience as Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Baptists, Roman Catholics, Episcopalians, Buddhists, and "nones" in our pews. These same people can have and do have a wide-range of beliefs. You will find a fairly conservative theology and a fairly progressive theology sitting right next to one another in the pew. We are a church that accepts and tolerates differences encouraging
this diverse group to come together.
We also have a number of seekers who come to us from fairly fundamental or conservative churches who are looking for a different way of faith expression. We encourage seeking; and while not always providing answers, will help in the process of thinking and discovering.
God is loving and compassionate.
Jesus is a manifestation and divine reflection, revealing the nature of and a way to God. We are co-creators of life with God and as such are asked to be loving and compassionate and tolerant of all, including ourselves. Diversity is a good thing.
